He has experience leading programs in subjects related to Leadership, Change, Interpersonal Communication, Team Building, Customer Service, Meeting Management, Stress Management, Sexual Harassment and Diversity, Career Management, Situational Leadership, Facilitation Skills, and Performance Management.
Lawrence specializes in coaching and training professionals in improving their Emotional Intelligence. He is a certified administrator of the BarOn Eqi, the first scientifically validated emotional intelligence assessment used by over 200,000 people worldwide. This expertise was developed through his post-graduate work at the Institute for Human Development, under the direction of Dr. Wilson Tilley. This graduate work focused on the impact of emotions on problem solving, decision making and relationships.
As an internal trainer and consultant, Lawrence worked as National Training Manager at Sharp Electronics USA, Senior Trainer at Beth Israel Medical Center and HRD Professional at Montefiore Medical Center. Prior to his work in OD, Lawrence spent 4 years in Information Technology. Starting at Ernst & Young at the help desk, he worked his way up to programmer & consultant. He designed and developed PC-based database systems and was also a Novell certified LAN administrator. Moving to Bankers Trust as a Systems Project manager, he led cross-functional teams in the development of Employee Benefit Systems for Fortune 500 clients including IBM & Grumman.
Lawrence earned his M.S. in Organization Development from The American University with NTL Institute, a leading institution in experiential learning. He earned his B.S. in Management, with a minor in Industrial Psychology, from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
