For nearly 20 years, Priscilla has been a writer, teacher, and facilitator. Her experience extends from college professor to designer of training programs to author a variety of publications in the field of international education and travel.
Priscilla serves on the faculty at Ramapo College of New Jersey where she designs and teaches writing-intensive courses in English and the humanities, tutors graduate business students on effective business writing, and has been a feature writer for Ramapo Magazine. Ms. Tovey has also published a number of articles on writing instruction.
While at Sharp Electronics, Ms. Tovey worked with Accenture as a change management lead on an SAP reengineering project which involved extensive training design of more than 1,000 employees across the country. She developed and facilitated training courses and train the trainer course for all levels of employees on system functionality: from customer care representatives through senior-level management.
Ms. Tovey has worked globally for the Council on International Educational Exchange of New York City where she launched and managed educational programs for ESL students from Europe, Asia, and Latin America, including hiring and training all program staff and negotiating contracts with partners abroad. This new-hire training involved the design, development, and delivery of one-day workshops. In addition, she facilitated seminars of Stephen Covey’s Seven Habits of Highly Effective People.
As an author and editor, Priscilla Tovey has a passion for writing and international travel. She has published a variety of books and articles on travel and education, including Smart Vacations: The Traveler’s Guide to Learning Adventures Abroad, a former Book-of-the-Month Club selection. Her interests in international/intercultural understanding have taken her to a wide variety of countries “off-the-beaten-paths.”
Ms. Tovey holds a Master's Degree from New York University and a Bachelor's Degree with honors from Ramapo College of New Jersey. She has also studied in Bath and Oxford, England.
