Step 1: Agree on Goals
This step sets the framework for the coaching assignment. It includes meeting with the key stakeholders in the engagement to understand the business context, discuss the coaching process and agree on the goals.

Step 2: Assessment
We have several assessments tools and approaches we use a coaching assignment. Some of the tools we use include:
  • Leadership Skill Assessment: This tool is particularly helpful for new leaders to skills needed to develop in their position. It is done through either 360 or self-assessment.
  • Eq-i: This Emotional Intelligence Assessment is particularly useful for leaders who need to improve temper, communication, setting performance boundaries with employees or dealing with change.
  • Social Styles: This tool assesses helps leader’s build relationships and influence all types of people.
  • Lead Change NRG: Developed by PeopleNRG, this tool identifies helps leaders improve their skills in leading and dealing with change.
Step 3: Begin Coaching
The first session involves reviewing assessment data and creating a coaching plan. The steps include:
  1. Review assessment results with Coachee
  2. Identify and discuss main issues
  3. Prioritize issues
  4. Create coaching plan
Steps 4 and beyond
The specific steps and content of coaching session are dependent on the needs of the leaders. On average, coaching engagements last from 3 to 6 months. They involve a combination of face to face and phone coaching.
